My periods are very regular but I am over two weeks late. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for over 6 months. I have taken several home tests and they are negative. I also went to my doctor last week for a routine pap and she said my urine test was negative. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? When should I test again?

If you are 2 weeeeks late I would ask the doctor tot ake a pregnancy blood test to check. With a urine test, the hormones have to be a certain level to show a positive result, if your hormones fall a fraction below the required level, you will get a negative. This can happen if your hormones are slow to build up. The blood test, shows any rise in your hormone level, to indicate pregnancy or not. I don't want to give you false hope, but my daughter was 4 months pregnant before she got a positive result on a urine test, this also happened with her second pregnancy and both babies were fine. Unfortunately it sounds as though you are not pregnant yet. If you were pregnant your doctor would have noticed a bluish tint to your cervix when she did your Pap smear. The bluish tint is due to increased blood flow to the uterine area when pregnancy occurs.

However, it is slightly possible that you are not far enough along yet for this to happen. It usually begins within the first few weeks of pregnancy.

If you continue not to have a period, you need to get back in to the doctor to find out exactly what is going on.

I am in the same boat as you. Mine is only 5 days late but the urine test was negative too. My doctor said I could still be pregnant and that is was to early to tell by the exam if I was pregnant or not and that the bluish tint would come around week 6-8. She said if my period did not come in a week to call her and she would do a blood test.

No more new, my doctor told me to wait 2 weeks and test again. Of course I could not wait 2 weeks so I took one this morning (been a week since I saw my doctor). It is negative as well. I guess it is back to the old drawing board. This is such a frustrrating process.:(

So have yo done a blood test? They need to try and figure out why you are not getting your period.

I'm so sorry. I know how frustrating it can be. There is always this month though.

I haven't gotten mine yet. I am afraid to take another test, I feel like I am going to jinx it. I have a annual physical scheduled with my Primary on Monday so I am going to ask him to do a blood test if I have net gotten it yet.

Still no news. I have not started my period yet, today makes 60 days. I went to my primary on Monday for a routine visit and let him know what was going on. He refused to do a blood test saying that home tests are accurate and I could not possibly be pregnant.

I have an appointment with a fertility specialist on the 29th (I had this appointment scheduled for about 2 months). Maybe I should call my GYN before then? If I am not pregnant, then something else must be going on. This is the second period I have missed. I have not had one since January 14!

Good luck, doctors are not always right, my daughter was 4 months pregnant before she got a positive result with a urine test, this also happened with her second pregnancy, because her hormones were slow to build up high enough to show positive on a urine test, don't give up hope.

Hi ATVGirl0213 I'm in the same boat... today is CD51 for me I have had HPT and a blood test and nothing my doc won't see me until march 23rd
My last period was Jan 24

I am currently on CD65 and I have taken numerous tests as well. All of them have come out negative. I also have an appointment on the 23rd. I hope that we both get good news :) Good luck and keep us posted!
