    My husband lost a great uncle in hatton france named joe owens what happened in hatton this mans remains were never recovered he would love to meet someone who might have known him very little has come up on the internet.

    I presume he was in the armed forces? If so, in the UK there is the CWGC which detail the whereabouts of all the graves, I am sure that other countries have a similar organisation.
    Alternatively you could start with whichever armed force he was with?
    How about the Veterans association (www.va.gov )

    OK, same thing still applies. If you ggogle "79th infantry division 315th regiment" , you get lots of hits.

    These show the area of conflict in WW2. As it so happens it is quite close to me. I live in the channel islands about 40 miles from Cherbourg and Brittany. I would still be inclined to start with Dept of Defence, they are bound to have a public relations dept that will assist you in locating surviving members.

    Must be getting thin on the ground now though

    Thank you this meens so much to my husband, is grateful for your replies. He loves to study world war two because of his uncle dying in hatton france. This will be a lot of help to him . Thank once again. Also we have found that his uncle is located on the tablets of the missing Epinol france Joeseph H. Owens he was a tech sgt. 315 infantry reg. 79th infantry division. Company H. This is all the info we have been able to gather so far. We have not yet met anyone that new him. We are keeping are finger crossed though time is passing by.
