    As soon as I plug in my dvd rom drive I cannot move the electronic mouse o9n laptop

    Have you tried plugging in the drive before you start the notebook? Some devices cannot be plugged in and out while the PC is on (IDE hard drives, mouse, keyboard etc.). I have an external drive that acts like a cd-rom when it starts up and the cd-rom section of the drive is hard coded and cannot be disabled. It gives me problems sometimes and I hate it (WD idiots).
