Call the reference desk at your local public library and ask this question. They will give you further information for what's available in your area (and yes, there may be online courses through your local high school or community college). They will warn you what to avoid and tell you what is good.

Normally there is no federal money for high school courses. But if you are very low income, talk to your social worker, there may be money for the GED classes, but not for the GED test.

Also only do accredited high school programs, there are most likely 10 non accredited programs for any one good one when you start seraching the web.
