Garage door opener prevents door from opening all the way -- how to fix?
My wife and I moved into a house three months ago and we didn't realize this problem before we bought it. I'm trying to solve a problem with an existing garage door and Genie opener which due to the amount of backroom along the tracks, doesn't allow me to open the garage door the full length because of the motor head being in the way.
I have some photos at:

Could someone kindly let me know of any possible solutions you may have seen/heard used in similar instances? I found the Wayne-Dalton I-drive feature on the internet but the reviews indicate it's a very poor product. I've also found a Liftmaster direct drive option but I don't have enough space between the torsion shafts on adjacent doors.
Is there some fancy accessory that I can install between the door and the carriage assembly that I don't know about? Or should I consider boring a hole through the glulam and running an extension kit on the screw drive track to put the motor on the other side of the beam?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in Advance,
David
