    EtG alcohol testing for probation
    If someone has a sip or two of alcohol and they have an EtG alcohol test in 9 days, what are the chances of failing?

    No chance of failing (detection) at that time span.

    But remember that a "sip or two" tends to lead to a drink or two, or more. If you are required to abstain from alcohol as terms of your probation, that's what you should do.

    No. Alcohol is rapidly metabolized and eliminated from your system. Even after heavy drinking alcohol will be gone in less than 2 days.
