I think it's about an unpopular girl who is in love with one of the popular boys in high school. I remember she gets the help of a ghost/fairy god-boy who coaches her and transfers her into one of the popular girls in the high school so she can get the guy?
I know in the end, she does get the popular guy but he turns out to be a jerk and the fairy god-boy, having fulfilled her wish or whatnot, disappears. But, he was in love with her and she realizes, after he's gone, she was in love with him too. At the very end, we see someone moving in across the street from her and lo and behold, it's the fairy god-boy, though he has no recollection of her, the movie ends on a hopeful note.
