    Money Newsletters
Are any of these investment newsletters any good? I get them in my E-mail all the time and is there any way to check their past record on their recomdations? And where can I check them out. Thanks

I would be cautious of any newsletter that gives out specific recommendations. For example, what is the motivation behind the recommendation? Does the writer hold a position in the stock being recommended? Do they know your needs, goals and risk tolerance? How does that recommendation affect your overall portfolio? These are all questions a professional financial advisor asks and answers before making recommendations.

During the tech boom there were many online chats about specific stocks and the result was a person recommending something to take advantage of the run up only so they could dump their position for profit. Not that all stock pickers do this but you have to wonder what the motivation is behind giving out free advice.

It's really useless if any website is giving stock price recommendations but not follow up with past calls performance or trading report
