    What to do in Vegas?
I'm traveling to Las Vegas next month, I've been out of state in the past, but this will be my first time on an airplane, as I've always drove.

    My question is,

What should I do while I"m in Vegas (besides the obvious) Are there any "must sees" while I'm there?

Where is the best place to get my plane tickets and hotel accommodations for a reasonable rate (travel site-which one? airlines directly? Travel agent? )

What about a rental car? I've heard that there aren't a lot of places to park, so it's best to just take a cab, yet I've also heard cab fares can be pretty high, has anyone been there personally that would recommend one or the other?

Anything else you can tell me will also be great! :)

    Thanks in advance!

Vegas sits in a Valley surrounder by Mountains, to the West, up Charleston Blvd is Red Rock Canyon, With a Scenic Loop overlooking Red and White Sandstone. You can Race an Indy Car, there is also a place called Fly Away that has a fan blowing you up in the Air Like a skydiver, you can even fire a Machine Gun. What are some or your Interest?

Giant Amithest Geodes Taller than you, unless you are seven foot tall and they still may have it, plus the Tourmalines, Citrines, Fire Agates, about anything.
Over the East Mountains(Frenchman and Sunrise Mountains) is Lake Meade and is held up by Hoover/Boulder Dam. Below the Dam is a couple of Hot Springs.
Valley of Fire is to the Northeast and not too far away.
If you like Exploring and Adventure check out Mercury Bluprint and Supplies, they have 7.5 Minute Topos that show VERY detailed lay of the land(Ponds, trails, streams, mines).

Wow, what great ideas! It's like you already know what I like, I love racing and for a long period wanted to be a racecar driver, so racing an Indy Car could be fun! And I've always wanted to Skydive, I like scenic things and the looks of Red Rock Canyons website has be definitely wanting to go there, and the person I'm going with would probably really enjoy firing a machine gun, so thanks for such great ideas!

I also like horseback riding, any type of adventure-like the skydiving thing, rollercoasters, etc. So if anyone has any other ideas I'd definitely be interested in anything. I'm up for anything, and will always try something new AT LEAST once :) Thanks again stratmando

Every large casino has plenty of free self parking. If you stay for a week but only need the car for a day or so to go on a day trip, rent it from the airport and not a casino where it will be 3-5 times more.
