Advice about a career I want to get into (And information technology program)
    Hi

I was wanting to take a information technology specialist program and I was wondering if you could tell me what you think of it. Do you believe that the courses I am taking aren't very good for the 3300 cdn that I am paying for them or do you think I should find another course or do you think it looks good ? I would like your opinions. The salary for this area caps off at 55000 cdn and I can get jobs such as Network Admin, Help Desk, Tech Support, Software Support, Database Programming.. among other things. So if you could tell me what you think? Thanks.

How much of term one do you really feel like you don't know? If you have some idea on how to use word, excel, powerpoint I would switch those out to get more of the types of courses you have in term2+3. I use word to write my reports in, but its no harder than writing on this forum. Our 3 writers do all the hard stuff, not that it's that much to figure out. If they want a document updated I just have to update paragraphs and things. Nothing that you can't learn to do in an hour. So a whole couse is not recommended unless you really have no clue or you actaully plan to be a tech writer, etc. This applies to all those office application type courses. I also think these courses are very broad, which may be what you want. But I would find something that you are interested in and place more emphasis there. I'm in the US so job placement and such may be different so factor that into how you weight my advice. The Web development looks fine, in fact I recommend it. The other two I would consider from term 1 are Accounting and Communications, who knows from these two courses you may get enough information about spreadsheets and word processing anyway.

I don't think anyone can provide you an absolute answer because we are not aware of your current skills or interest.

    Good luck
