I have a co-op apartment in a high rise in NYC. It has old GE zoneline 3000 heat pumps. One of the two works fine, the other wotks OK but it is noisy. The fan is just loud. Should I bother to try to repair this or should I just replace them. If I replace them should I get heat pumps again or should I get standard resitance heating with standard AC units. I have been told the heat pumps don't do well when it gets really cold. Is there any reason to buy the Dry GE model, there seems to be a 2800 a 3800 and a 5800 series - is the cost difference worthwhile?
Thanks in adance for any response.
