Have a maytag gas dryer , its not firing up ? Is there a sensor I can change out or a step I can do to trouble shoot?

Do you have a standing pilot ro electronic ingnitor? If standing pilot check the thermocouple. If ignitor, check to make sure it's not cracked or broken. If it's not try cleaning it. If this does not solve problem, check the coils on the gas valve. Work safe as you are working with gas and electricity
