No, they should not, So I assume that means you have been off drugs long enough to pass. Have you started AA or another program to help you so that you can stay off, since I am sure you are aware that using drugs and driving large trucks do not mix.

"DOT drug test" means that the test is regulated by rules promulgated by DOT and enforced by SAMHSA. The test results are not centrally maintained by DOT. That agency rather sets forth the rules and regulations that DOT contractors, agencies, etc. must follow in administering the test, including laboratory procedure.

The failed test results were reported to your employer (at that time) and are part of your personnel file. The prospective (new) employer is required to request drug testing information from your previous employer for the past 2 years.

See 40.25 Must an employer check on the drug and alcohol testing record of employees it is intending to use to perform safety-sensitive duties?

So, it would seem that the answer depends on how long it has been since you failed the test mentioned.

You may find the answer to your question in this link. It is a downloadable pdf file and is quite informative and should be helpful to you. Skip the first few pages as it is pertaining to the guidelines for the SAP provider but has a lot of other information you need.
