    Sex While On Period
    Hi there
I had unprotected sex on the 3rd day of my period (normally lasts 4 to 5 days) and I normally have a cyle about 32 to 35 days? This period was over ten days late. I was just wondering is it possible for me to get pregnant? Its not very likely it is? I don't want to get pregnant but I was so sure there was no way I could get pregnant if having unproteced sex at the same time as a having a period so I told my boyfirned it was impossible but after reading some things on the net I am not so sure that it is impossible. How likely is it that I could get pregnant? Also I was wondering if having unprotected sex (he came in me) will make my period last longer than normal? And where does the go? Will it come out like really messy or do you hardly even notice it(is it just like a discharge) someone please reply
    Thanks

The chances of getting pregnant increases by everyday after the first day of your period. Getting pregnant on the third day of your period is pretty rare. Rare in the sense that your highst time for conception is between your 12th day and your 16th day. Your 14th is usually the day that ovulation is greater, but as you know everyone is different. But I have also heard that it is possible to get pregnant during your period, but it is rare. Did you get it already? If not and its ten days late you are over a week, it could be due to stress or sickness but if you don't get your period in the next couple of days, I would get a pregnancy test and go see your doctor. Because if your not pregnant and haven't gotten it, you should find out why. I really hope everything works out for you. Keep us posted.

It is unlikely but not impossible to get pregnant if you have sex during your period. Physiologically there is no difference when having sex while menstruating. Never have unprotected sex regardless of what stage of your cycle you're at. Nothing is ever a certainty when it comes to cycles and pregnancy and all things conceivable have happened. Get a pregnancy test done between 2-4 weeks from when you had unprotected sex.

The questions you asked here make me think that you've not had much experience, and are letting things just happen without thinking about the consequences here. You abviously are still very young and if you don't want the responsibility of having children yet, or getting a disease that will riun your life, make certain that your 'sexual learning stage' is safe, safe, safe, from now on. I hope for you that you are not pregnant, and also hope you get a lot more educated for your sake. Any young man that does not respect and consider you enough to use a condom should be told off. Wish you well, and keep us posted.

You should never have unprotected sex, unless you are looking to start a family, and you know your partner is free on STD’s, yes you could be pregnant. Having you period is not a green light saying that a pregnancy will not happen, my best advice to you is to either get a test from the store or go to the doctor, I wish you the best of luck what ever your outcome

That's for posting guys. Firstly I have done a bit of research and yes there are physical changes during your period. The uterus is more open at this time thus increasing the risk of bacteria getting "up there" and causing an infection. Really don't advise having sex at this time. I now have a urinary infection (which I went to the doctor on the first day I had symptons - painful urinating) which I suspect was a consequence of having sex when I had my period. Guys Don't RISK IT, and besides a few days to wait without sex isn't a long time! Sorry that post above does make me sound rather naïve. But the fact is I actually did reproduction course at uni and it was my best grade!! LOL but I'm not a doctor and I actually read in a Cosmo magazine that you couldn't get pregnant while on your period and its perfectly safe physically but I read a report from a doctor on the net and there is evidence to strongly disagree with this.

I wouldn't say naïve. Its okay you didn't know all the details. But you did the right thing into reserching about it. You know now and that's all that matters. Never take unprotected sex lightly. Anytime you engage in sexual activity without protection at any time of your cycle, there is always a small chance you could get pregnant. Im surprised Cosmo would print something so irresponsible. Always take your doctors word over a magazine

Yeah honestly those magazines are getting a bit ridiculous these days. I have read about all sorts - using cucumbers and other fruits as dildos etc - the list goes on and what's more they make it sounds like this sort of behaviour is NORMAL to be honest I really don't think some of the things they talk about in there really are normal!! Don't really bother reading those mags anymore...

I don't blame you. I use to really like those magazines, but to be honest I don't waste my money anymore. All they talk about is sex, sex, sex... Its enough to drive me nuts. And how you should please your man? Oh please! Its like that's they think that should be your first and foremost thing to be worried about.

Sometimes when a wife has painful periods, the husband helps out with sex, but is wise enough to use a condom to protect against infections. This is the one and only good purpose or remedy as needed, but otherwise, I'd let it be. Belated Happy New Year everyone and lots of good wishes.
