I have heard that girls had a lot of bleeding in their first intercourse.. is that true?

It all depends on the situation. You may bleed, you may not. If you break your hymen you will probably see a dark colored blood. Every person is different. If he is too big you may get abrasions more easily, just as if you are dry or it is rough. As I said, though, every person is different.
