Tangibles are those things which are easily observed such as geography, natural resources, population etc. Intangibles are qualities of the mind.

    Tangibles:

Geography, population, and natural wealth etc.

    Intangibles:

Willingness to accept punishment, quality of leadership, nature of a country's government, unity, national character, etc.

The article at the following site gives the details.

    Nature of Power

    Hello aaras:

The biggest source of tangible power is a huge, well trained army. Diplomacy used to be powerful, but it doesn't work very well these days.

    People understand big sticks.

In terms of State Power Potential...
Tanglible sources of power: industrial development
Intangible sources of power: national image, public support, leadership
Natural sources of power: Geography, natural resources, population
