You have a Delta valve that has a cartridge and not seats and washers. I ran across this looking for a diagram. This will give you step by step instructions on how to replace a cartridge in your shower valve. Replacing a Waltec 12

See attached break down of Waltec faucet. Faucet appears to use cartridge type stem but does have seat (see item key #1). Seat is removed with 5/16 Allen wrench. See "Tools You may need". Seat Part number is WP201185. Should also see warranty.

Sorry I should have mentioned I took the unit to a plumbing store and they couldn't get the seats out . They appear to be rounded and don't fit an Allen key or seat removal too. I think I need to replace the brass unit

We would like to replace our basement bathtub with a shower. The plummer told us, that this would not work, because a shower drain is bigger then a tub drain pipe. Is this correct? If yes, what would happen if we were to find a shower with a drain the size of our tubs, would that work?
