    Ventless bath fan...
    Hello,

Is there any type of ventless fan I can install in a bathroom that will actually help reduce the moist air? It is a rental unit and almost impossible to run a vent outside.

    Thanks

I've tried a couple of the "ventless" models and found them to be pretty much just a gimmic. The best they can do is filter odor a bit.

On a side note: In most areas, a vented exhaust fan or window is "code" in most metropolitan areas... so if you have neither, then you might speak to the landlord about his correcting the situation.

Another side note: do you by chance have attic space above you? If so, you can vent it into the attic.

<i>you can vent it into the attic</i>

Be careful here, that's probably not to code. In Ontario, a bathroom fan must be vented to the exterior of the house. Venting to the attic could result in moisture problems there, and consequently mold ones as well.

Thanks for the replies. There is another apartment above so no attic to worry about.
