Shower faucet handle -has no screws? Remove?
My shower faucet handles are Elger shiny chrome 1 piece handles.
Shaped like a fluted ball with a cylinder beneath it.
They have no screws holding them on.
They do have a small rectangular "cross pin" looking thing.
It can't be driven out, and it may be a spring that snaps in an indentation?
There's not enough clearance to see how it functions.
They are loose enough to rock, have some play, probably by design.

I'd like to get the handles off and replace the faucet, but have not figured this out.
    Ideas?

Some faucet handles have a piece in the center that has a design or the name of the mfr. That just looks decorative. You pry that off by carefully slipping a small flat screwdriver under its edge and it's covering the screw holding the handle on. Or it may have a spring pin holding it on. You don't try to drive that out, you use needle nose plyers to grasp it and squeeze it together then pull it out. It works sort of like a clothespin does--you sqeeze it one way, then when you let go it holds itself in place until you sqeeze it again.
