I had a home built over 2 years ago. We have a full finished basement with a bathroom and a laundry room. The builders installed an ejector pump to get the waste up to the street sewage line, and we have had problem after problem with it. 3 times over the past 2 years, the pump has been "overwhelmed" and the sewage backs up into my basement. The builders are going back and forth about what to do about it (possibly making the basin bigger, increasing the size of the pipes, etc.), but no good solution has been reached yet. I have never had an ejector pump in my home before, and I am certainly no plumbing expert, but I cannot believe what a nightmare this thing has been. Have others had the same types of problems? Any possible solutions?
