    Rusted Shower Knob Screws
I've got shower knobs that need replacing. I attempted to unscrew the screw in the middle, but it is rusted, and I can not remove it. What do I need top do to replace these knobs?

Thanks for the response Chuck. Even with WD40, the screws are rusted to the point where there is no way get a screwdiriver to get a hold. The knobs are plastic, and I want to replace them with metal knobs. Can they be cut off, and the screws somehow removed that way?

If the heads are stripped on screws, u can get a screw extractor at hardware store or big box store.

Soak with WD40, tapping screw to let oil work.

Use extractor to remove screw. U will have to wiggle handle to get off. It may be rusted on also. There is also a tool for removing handles.

Let us know how u make out.

Chuck nailed it with the WD-40 and screw removal tool.(see image) .
And for those stubborn handles a handle puller,(see image) might be just what you need. Good luck, Tom
