Low cold water pressure but normal hot water
I just bought a house that was built in 1907. It has low water pressure on the cold side but normal pressure on the hot water side. I traced out the pipes and they are all copper and 3/4 inch for the branch feeders and 1/2 inch pipes going to the fixtures. The line coming into the house is 1 inch copper line and comes into the basement which is where the meter and shut off valve are located. So from what I have read online I have checked and I am trying to provide enough information to help anyone out who may know what to do next. When I turn on the cold water there is basically just a trickle but if another faucet is turned on or the toilet is filling nothing will come out. So what should I be looking for? I am also connected to city water. Thanks to all of you who can help me and I look forward to hearing back.

If the cold water is like this all over the house I think I would check for a valve that could be partially shut off or one that might be stopped up. Since you have good hot pressure I think I would look in the area of the water heater. Or maybe you at one time had a water softener or a water conditioner. If you had an old water softener that had not been used in years the water can build up a scale over the mineral in the softener and retard the water flow through it.
