Installed new hot water heater but still no hot water just cold water
We installed a new hot water heat and we still do not have hot water. We were having our bathroom remodeled at the same time the water heater went out. So now the plumber is saying that the contractor probably put one of the faucets in the bath room backwards so it is prventing the hot water to go through out the house. We do get hot water at the kitchen sink which is the sink closest to the water heater for about 2 min. The plumber wants to tear apart out new bathroom faucets to check and make sure they were not put in backwards. To me it sounds like the hot water heater company just doesn't want to replace the hot water tank which is probably the easiest and cheapist solution. Do you think it could really be faucets installed backwards from preventing the whole house from getting hot water

First off, is the water heater doing its job or is your plumber blowing smoke up your skirt.

I think it's the latter because if you install a faucet backeards the only thing that will happen is that you'll get cold water on the left and hot water on the right.
Think about and then can the plumber. He's lost and throwing "Hail Mary" passes.
I think you and I can do a better job of analyzing the situation.
Let's check out the heater. You say the kitchen gets hot water for a couple of minutes?
Turn on the hot water to the sink and let run while you go put your hand on the heaters outlet pipe. It will feel hot at first. When your sink runs out of hot water does the pipe start ro cool down? Let me know, tom
