    Drywell or leach field
I had contractor come out to suck my septic tank out , he couldn`t find the access lid so he drilled a hole in top to get access . He didn`t plug up the hole right away , he just put a temperary lid on it , in the mean time I noticed the hole he dug to get to the tank was full of sewer smelling water . When he came back out to cap it off he said that my drain from the leach field was clogged. I read that a guy had a drywell system . How can tell if I have a drywell or leach field ?

The problem is the sewer line is clogged to the drain field or the solids clogged up the drained field.
A dry well is a recovery system to take your downspouts and the laundry gray water and put the Gray water in another pit so to speaks. It recommend to use two dry wells if there is no lint filter on washer.

Dry wells are totally separate from septic fields and no human waste into a dry well setup

To see if you have a dry well set up see where your laundry water goes and not the septic tank.

A LEACH FIELD is a drain field period. This basically is a bed of crushed stone with perforated sewer pipe to leach the sewer liquids in the ground. I know out side my area they use a Galley system witch basically cement block buried for the leach/drained field.

If you want to know more on how a drain field works click on 21 boat and see my history and that might help you.

There are products that may help the drainer Field that goes into tank and it kicks up the bio to eat solids and try that they say it can unclog drain fields/leachfeilds.

Another thing is check the grade to swail around the drain field. If its too much surface water saturating the drain field then that can cause it to fail.

Check your local codes for a dry well system to help elevate the amount of water into the drain field.

P.S. If you check local codes please be discreet about the failure on the drainfeild. They can shut you down and get it into a D.E.R. environment big problem and it could even get as serious as condemning the house as uninhabited because you can not use your toilets Try the surface swails and get downspouts far away from Field. For a new drainfield it has to be engineered and can be from $15,0000 way on up. So do military short showers and if just pee in the toilet as the Hawaiians say "If its yellow let it Mellow" They always have septic problems Less water so field can drain and catch up

I have a drainage issue in my backyard. My property slopes towards my house, so when it rains all the water runs down and pools up.
