After I flush the toilet, there's a howling noise. Sound almost like a fog horn. Sounds like it's coming from the basement. What's wrong?

It's nothing... only the water (due to gravity) forcing air out of the drain pipe as it dispenses into the sewer.

Is there a prv [pressure reducing valve] in the basement? Does it feel like it is vibrating when you hear the howling?

I ran my water all though out the house from top to bottom open the toilet and lift the plug get somthn to hold it open while the water is run also turn on the washer let water run for 10 to 15 minutes turn off and I didn't have a problem wit it for a while I guess you just have to keep doing it until it goes away altogether.. vmp

    Hi Vvaris...

If you are getting that howling sound at your toilet then the one solution would be to disassemble the toilet fill valve and clean or replace the fill valve washer. Best solution would probably just be to replace the entire fill valve... only about $8.00... ;)

    Questions? Let me know, OK?
