Found skin in basement - where's snake at?
HELP - The other night while in our basemenets "coal bin" I happened to look up and over to the right and seen a snake skin up on the subfloor (?) of the floor above - rafters - whatever you want to call it. Needless to say I am terrified of any snake - even a dead one creeps me out. :o

Our basement is stuffed to the top - totes after tote, Christmas tree in a bag, yard sale stuff (most in tote) - you name it and it is probably down there. I was getting totes separated when I seen it to get it out of here - I recently found freecycle! Now I can barely make myself go down there - it's great cause our shower is down there. Sniff, sniff - What is that smell? Yeah it will be that way if I don't know for sure it is gone. My son has no idea I seen a skin and my mom isn't sleeping well. If anyone knows how to trap it - just get it out - WHATEVER! PLEASE let me know. I'M A DESPERATE CHICKEN! How can I tell if it is poisionious? Well, how can someone else tell if it is? I am not going down there. I don't care if I have to drive to a relatives house to take a shower.

I live in OH - about 50 miles below Columbus. In case that is needed. I have no idea what kind of snake it is. As long as it's not poisionious - It don't matter to me what kind it is --- I DISPISE ALL OF THEM EQUALLY. Thank you for reading this and if you can help me PLEASE tell me what to do.

First of all : a snake skin proves that there ever was a snake there, but not that it still is there. Most probably not, as snakes have also to eat.
Secondly most snakes are not poisonous. Just as sharks are not all man-eaters, and spiders not all black-widows, out there to kill you!
But may I suggest that this is an excellent reason for all of you to join in a spring cleaning of your basement?
That will confirm to you that the snake is no longer there, and that you can shower in your own house...

First of all - your reply just shows you like to add your 2 cents to everything and not really say anything worth while. Also, I am sure it could find food down there. I live in a rural area, with corn fields all around -critters here and there, so I bet there are mice down there.

Secondly -It don't matter if it is or isn't poisonous I HATE ALL SNAKES - the only good snake is a dead one.

Thirdly - what do you think I was doing in the basement? I wasn't playing tiddywinks. I believe I was separating totes to go through and freecycle the stuff. So your suggestion of spring cleaning has no merit - just like your answer.

If you were terrorized by someone with a snake - over and over as a small child you would despise them as much as I do and if by chance you wouldn't than more power to you. Come on over and get yourself a snake and or snake skin. Yeah, you know it all and do nothing.

Thanks for NOTHING. I came here for advise on getting rid or as I said whatever ( which would most likely included how to search, trapping, etc for it). If I wanted a SMRTAZZ reply  I would have called my EX.

YOU are the one who knows NOTHING about EVERYTHING. If you can't respond to a post with a true answer than skip it. I don't need your BS. You need to get a life - a real life. What did you do before the Internet? I bet you was in the closet. :p :p It's time for you to go back in. :p PLEASE!
