After reading the question and all the answers, something that wasn't addressed or really noted was that she said she "waits up to hear it" PURPOSELY. There is nothing wrong with it. It is like hearing porn in the other room. It has nothing to do with the fact that it happens to be her parents. It could be anyone and your response would likely be the same, it just so happens that when you are sixteen, you live with your parents.
