Get it copyrighted. Do you know how to do that?

Google "ASCAP copyright". They have a link just for that.

This is what a copyright is for. The problem here is that a copyright is not a guarantee. No one enforces copyrights, it is up to the copyright holder to police and attempt to enforce their copyright.

There are also 2 issues in your question. The first is taking and using your music, the second is claiming ownership over it.

To be able to prevent someone from taking, especially using your music, you have to monitor the airwaves and other outlets for any use of your music. Then, if you find such usage, you have to send ceases and desist letters to the offenders. And if that doesn't work you need to take them to court to enforce your copyright.

Similarly, if you find someone laying claim to your work you have to file suit to protect your copyright.

No one is going to monitor this for you. Getting a copyright is fairly easy and inexpensive, but unlike patents, there is no search for similar items. The copyright office takes you at your word that it is original work. So if someone else gets in a copyright earlier than you, you may lose.
