How to find an absent parent
My name is Kimberley Hanzuk, I was born to Debra Hanzuk on October 15Tth in Anchorage, Alaska 1987. I have been trying to locate my biological dad whose name is David Earl Langley, who is probably in his late 40's now. He was last known living in Texarkana Texas or Arkansas and married Joyce Langley in I think 1989 or1990. I was living in Arizona at that time with my Mom & sister & he flew to Arizona the un when I was 3 to meet me for the first time. That's the last time I saw him. I have tried looking up and evan called several David Langley's with no success of one of them being my dad. My Mom told me she met him when he was a bouncer at a country club in Anchorage in 1986 and he also had his uncle who also lived up here at that time. I don't know where else to look until I came across this website. Thank you.

Of course one of the ones you called could have been him and he did not want any contact.

Remember calling them up out of the blue, they start thinking, will I owe back support to this person, or I don't want any contact, or I don't want to deal with this.

Not saying this happened, but most of the bio parents in meetings are not that happy to meet the kids.

I thought of that, thank you. I'm not looking for child support. I just wanted to know if he's even alive. He found me once and now I'm trying to find him after several years. I would like to know anything about my other family. History, heritage, members. Thank you for responding.

Langley is a common name. I find 3 who are 47 years of age, 20 who are between 40 and 45, many with the middle initial E, several with the middle name E. None cross reference to Joyce Langley.

Do you have his EXACT age or date of birth?

I agree with Frchuck - possibly you have reached him and he doesn't want contact. Happens all the time.

    What is his Uncle's name?

His background - Alaska - is sort of unimportant after this many years.

Give me more to work with and I'll keep looking.

EDIT: There is a David E Langley who died this year - 2012.

It's too late now but it's a BIG mistake to post your search on a public board, stating specifically that you are searching for your father. Anyone who sees it knows why are you looking for him and if he wants no contact they are now aware you are looking. I'm talking more about Genealogy and those sites than I am about AMHD. A simple "I'm looking for" works a lot better than a question with the other info. As I said, too late to change it but he apparently hasn't wanted contact until now and now he knows you are searching.
