    Painful lump on knee cap
Just recently I have been having pain in my left knee that is so severe that I have to brace myself on something when I am sitting down. I have also developed a painful lump on the top of my knee cap that is about dime sized, is definitely part of the bone, not soft tissue, and is tender to the touch.
It started just hurting on and off, often waking me up at night. Now it is like a tooth ache, and hurts the majority of the time. I am 25 years old, I eat a healthy organic diet and exercise 6 to 7 days a week.
In comparison to my other knee it is a bit swollen over all. I've had no recent injury, and this is something that has slowly been becoming more and more bothersome.
I've googled and googled and have found nothing that matched what I am experiencing, short of a tumor. I'm hoping someone has some insight/experience with something similar.

    Thanks you

Yeah, well I eat an all organic vegan diet, so I pretty much have that covered. Haha.

I go vegan to rebuild my body but I juice the vegies in a blender and use the whole veg, I add citric acid to lower the ph and lots of garlic and hotpeppers as well as aromatics.
The juice is powerful, 100 times that of just chewing and it kills parasites.

I have exactly the same problem. Let me know if you find out what it is. I do run occasionally and I think I hit the knee on a table not long ago, but it would not explain the pain or the lump really.

Um.. sounds like you might have a small cyst. I had a brother in law that had the same problem. I don't know if he had any pain with it or what. He had seen a doctor to determine that. He said it was a non-cancerous cyst. He had to get it removed. I think it was an out-patient surgery. Good luck.

I have osteo-arthritis in my left knee & when bad I have a gristle-like bump on the top of my knee cap which hurts like a b***h, often keeping me awake at night. I know you'll be thinking it won't be that as you're too young but I am 39yrs old & it became a real problem at 37 though I had pain from 36. Get your Dr to check it out. An MRI scan found mine. X

I have an oblong shaped thing above my left knee. It has gotten bigger in size since its first started bothering me. It does cause pain down to my foot if I touch it or try to figure out if it has gotten any larger in size. It was first recognized at the size of an m&m and now is the size of zweebec cookie that babies teeth on. My whole leght aches from it and sleep is nonexistant as I not only have that but spinal stenosis, osteo arth, and you well you don't want to hear the rest. Ive said a few things to my Drs about it but they just don't mention anything else. I hate to even tell them when I have anything else wrong as I have so many things wrong. Who would be the right Dr to take this to? I have a Gen Dr, Neurologist, Neurosurgeon, RA DR and an Orthopedic surgeon. Who's left to asK? Thanks

    didn't work .
(have year and a half with the problem, used to work out very often 6 days a week)
everybody says I'm too young for "uric acid problems"

Chances are your condition and the condition of the original poster are very different. As well this post hasn't been looked at in a year and a half. They're not coming back.
