    Inflamed underarm sweat glands
Hi. I've been getting painful lumps under my arms for about 8 years. They are the result of inflamed sweat glands. Really, other than be a champ and suffer through, there really isn't anything I can do other than apply a warm compress until it either goes away or drains. Now I read somewhere that Botox injections will help, but that's just too expensive.

Does anyone else have this condition? Any good treatment ideas?

I always heard that deodorants can cause clogs and lumps like that.

Also from everything I read spending time at Chernobol is just as safe as botox

I have had this problem for years, and it's inflammed/infected sweat glands. (In fact I have had to have one of them surgically removed.) The best course of action for you is to go to the doctor. Most of the time this can be cleared up with a round of antibiotics. Occasionally I've had to have the doctor lance and squeeze the site. (Rather painful but worth it in the long run.) Also, the doctor has told me to use a deoderant with aluminum in it. Apparently this helps keep the occurrences down. Good luck!

I had a problem many years ago. I cured it by washing the underarm with soap and water twice a day and omitting the deodorant. I didn't have a problem with any strong smell.

    It healed.

    GoodLuck! :)

I've had this problem for about four months, starts small the size of a pea then gets as big as a golf ball, makes my whole arm go numb. My dumb doctor told me it was from my medical problem lupus. I have one right now should I go see a different doctor since this other one thinks it's caused by something else?

I have the same problem. You have lupus and I have Fibromyalgia,RA,OA, my immune system is down and I get everything I come in contact with. I have ask two doctors and my pharmacist and they ALL gave me the same answer IMMUNE SYSTEM. So don't have doubts just get siome strong antibiotics from your doctor and it will clear up. Hopes this helps. My e-mail is [email protected] if you need to talk. Hope you feel better.

This could be Hidradenitis Supperativa. Do some research. Very common in the underarm area. Antibiotics are your best bet to calm inflammation, and a steriod injection directly into the abcess helps a lot too. Please get this checked out ASAP. Go to a derm. Bring your research with you. Even derms have not often treated this disease. It can become debilitating, get worse, spread to other areas of the body, like anus, groin, etc. The sooner you get it under control, the better off you will be. Hopefully you can avoid wide surgical removal if you get it treated ASAP. Some use tea tree oil on the cysts, others use zinc supplements, desitin. Good luck

I get these under my arms and I believe it is the antiperspirant causing them. I avoid using it as much as possible and I don't get them. As soon as I use it again within a few days I start getting them and damn they can be so very painful.I have a fairly large one right now. I may need to use antibiotics if it gets any worse. I once put antiperspirant between my butt cheeks and a giant one formed there too. It broke and drained for a week and had to be treated with antibiotics. Could it be an allergic reaction to Aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex? The name alone scares the crap out of me. I am 61 years old.

I have an inflamed underarm for 4 days , I feel a swollen gland of some sort under my armpit. I went to doctor. He suggests to cut open my armpit and squeeze the inflamed fluid out. I did that and it was very painful. He also tug a small piece of cotton inside the cut for a day to absorb the inflammation. He said he doesn't know what is the root cause of the inflammation. I don't know if it is the only way to treat it. I have done a few other surgery already and I don't want to feel pain any more. I hope it is going to get better soon.
