Tons of refrigerant to horse power
Any one have a conversion table in refrigeration?
    Tons to hp..

    That's a strange conversion. A ton of cooling is defined as 12,000 BTU/hr. One HP is eqiuvalent to 2547 BTU/hr. Hence 1 ton = 12,000/2547 = 4.711 HP.

You may be true but as a thumb rule the Daikin , Toshiba units sizing is done in this order i.e, 0.8 HP = 1 ton

    1 TOR = 1.25 HP
    1 TOR = 12000 BTU/HR
    1 HP = 2.8 KW

    There is no direct conversion.

For air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, the ratio between power requirement and refrigeration effect (heat removed) varies, depending on the temperature difference between the low-temperature heat souce (cooled air or liquid) and the high temperature heat sink (outdoor air or condenser water).

With various types of air conditioning equipment, the source and sink temperatures or fairly consistent, so manufacturers will give a (nominal) tonnage for the system, based on ARI standard rating conditions (for instance, air-to-air systems are usually rated for 80 F (dry bulb) air entering the evaporator coil, and 95 degree air entering the condenser coil).

Refrigeration manufacturers don't like to give nominal tonnage, since the source temperature varies greatly with coolers and freezers.

That said, it is usually close to 0.9 Tons of refrigeration per compressor horsepower for medium-temperature refrigeration systems.

Air condition ton and refrigeration tonnage was diference..
Refrigeration tonnage depends of type of refrigeration.. R12, R22, R502 etc..
    Confusing..!
