    Repiercing my tongue
I had to take my tongue ring out for this awesome job/internship that would look great for my resume. So anyway the hole closed how long do you have to wait to get your tongue done again or can it ever be redone?

I had mine pierced for about 3 yrs and took it out for a similar reason. It has been out for over a year, and I decided today that I wanted it back in. I could put the ring in the top and in the bottom, but not all the way through. So I grabbed a piece of ice, a needle and a lighter. I sterilized the needle and then heated it in fire(just to make sure all bacteria was dead) I held the ice cube on top and bottom of my toungue till it was numb. I inserted the ring into the bottom and held firmly against the scar tissue that had formed in the center of my tongue. I then tried to press the needle through the top, against the end of the ring. My needle wasn't sharp enough apparently. So I held the ice again, to keep it numb, then I just firmly pressed the tongue ring through the scar tissue (it wasn't very thick) and then I rinsed out with listerine and will continue to do so. It didn't hurt, just felt the pressure(like originally) and it feels OK now. If I press the ring against my teeth, I can feel a bit of soreness, but that is to be expected. So all this hype about your tongue completely healing if you take it out isn't exactly right I guess. Now keep in mind, I had mine in for years. If you get it pierced and a few months later(before it heals completely) you take it out, it WILL grom back differently and will make more scar tissue. I assue piercing through the same hole will be harder(scar) but shouldn't hurt any more as long as you wait till it has healed before repiercing it. If you try to repierce while the scar tissue is still forming, I bet it will hurt like mad. Anyway, this is just my opinion, I'm not a professional piercer or a doctor, and only time will tell if mine gets infected(which I seriously doubt) or begins to hurt a bunch.
