Problem Removing Sites From IE6 Restricted Sites Zone
    Hello,

I recently removed all of the entries that SpywareBlaster v3.5.1 had automatically loaded into my restricted sites zone on IE6 browser and I noticed that there were still two sites that weren't deleted in the process. I then remembered that I had manually added them to the restricted zone, so I simply clicked on the 'remove' button to delete them, but neither entry would stay deleted. Both entries kept reappearing, even after I repeatedly cleaned them from the zone, closed my browser and restarted my system a few times.

Does anyone know how to permanently remove these entries through the registry? To help you, the names of the two entries that I am trying to get rid of are...

    *.coolwebsearch.
    *.coolwwwsearch.

Any advice insofar as how I can permanently delete the aforementioned entries from my registry would be appreciated, as they will not remain deleted through the conventional manner of removing them directly in the Restricted sites zone of IE browser.

    10/26/06 Update...

I have been trying to fix this problem myself and after some research I found that the registry key for internet sites can be found at this location in the registry...

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings\Zones

Subkey *Zone 4* contains Restricted Sites

The main problem is which value or values should I alter or delete within that subkey? There are several listed and I do not want to change or delete something without knowing exactly what needs to be done.

Just figured it out on my own. I was able to locate the subkey values that needed to be deleted.

You haven't explained what type of subkey you are trying to remove. It is easier on other members trying to help you, if you put out the effort to explain your problem in as much detail as you can.

These are the security zones for IE, which can be found by searching this registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Internet Settings\Zones

    0) MyComputer
    1) Local Intranet
    2) Trusted sites
    3) Internet
    4) Restricted Sites
