How can I make my room look girly but grown up?
]I would really like to walk into my room and feel like it's my room.I don't feel my room suits me.
I have a dressing table, bedside table,Chest of drawers, bookcase and a windowsill. So any ideas on what I could put in them to make them look fab! I'm 12 so I want it to look girly as well as grown up but I am not allowed to paint. Ideas!

A redish pink color is perfect if you want your room to look girly but mature at the same time . Also a lime green.

Do what Shreve Stockton did to create her "gypsy trailer" --

My Gypsy Trailer : HONEY ROCK DAWN

Or decorate using ice cream pastels and a mix of prints.

Those are great colors, however, she has indicated that she's not allowed to paint.

When I was your age, I too wanted a more "girly" bedroom, AND, I too was not allowed to paint. So what I did was incoporated more pinks and purples in my room. By doing that, you could get a pink bed comforter with pink and purple throw pillows. Perhaps some curtains to match. You could also get a pink plush rug. Those are very cute as well as trendy.

You could get more decorative colorful pictures for your wall. Perhaps something palyful and abstract.

I remember being 12. I remember I left the "barbie" stage, and entered a young woman stage. I changed my room completely, however, I topped off my bed with a stuffed animal. I guess I couldn't let all of the kid go. :)

    Hi Sugar...

Check out the IKEA web site... they have some very affordable options for a young lady to decorate her room... ;)

    All Products - IKEA

Click on this link and look for lighting, storage, chairs, and other really fun stuff.

For example, you could ask your parents to purchase a rail system that can incorporate a number of different panels, inluding the one I posted a picture of below. Click on this link for more info. On this panel system (about $50.00).

Have fun and good luck, but please, don't grow up too fast, OK?
