Trane air handle variable speed motor xl1200
The fan hasitates to star It tries to move and the after a minute it will run.
I try to set the dip swithches for no delay after running but no imprument,
The problem with this is that the coil inside gets frozen since no air is circulating, I caom with a temporary solution a delay circuit on the compresor side so it will give 2 o 3 minutes until the fan motor stars to turn smootly.
Is a way to repair the PC board with the LEDs, the motor or the controler I'm the back of the motor or the motor itself ,wich part is ? Trane wants $850 for the 3 items.
And if I do the rewiring can I put a regular motor with a capcitor? And how many RPMs I nedd?
    Thanks

I know of no company offering rebuilt parts for what you need.
    The parts are very expensive.
There is a special break out box used to diagnosis the system you have.
The tester is also very expensive.
Without the tester and knowing how to use it you are playing a guessing game as to which part is defective.

The RPM's you need will depend upon the size of blower wheel you have.
There is a formula to calculate the blower size to the motor horsepower buy I do not have that calculator on hand it is at the university where I help them out augratis. It is contained in a book so I cannot send to you over the net.
A 1/2 Hp motor will sure handle the load but since I have no diagram for the furnace circuits I have no way to tell you how to hook it up. That original motors are DC voltage I believe and the standard motor you are talking about using is A/C voltage.

Sorry but this is what is happening in the HVAC world and others. Efficiency is great but you end up paying more for the parts than what it has saved in energy.

A lesson learned never buy a variable speed blower set up on any unit. The standard 3 or 4 speed systems have worked for over 40 years with little or no problems and a .05 percent if that much energy savings by using the DC electronic variable speed blower is just not worth it.

BTW the dip switches are to be adjusted by using a meter to detect static pressure. You cannot just flip the switches because you run a risk unit damage.

Thanks for the prompt answer, This unit is from 1996 so I had all the life from this unit, if the unit does not hold with the compresor delay I will replace the air handler and the compresor unit with a regular unit with a regular more basic unit without any fancy PC boards and electronic controls, Im happy since I didn't get the extended guarantee at the time of installation.
    Thanks

Most units will still have a PC board but just stay away from the expensive motor drive. I also find it funny that the cost basis for a complere furnace with regular regular drive unit and the expensive (parts) variable speed is only 100.00 my cost but the parts cost 6X as much for variable. LOL

I have variable speed he on all three air handlers but it uses the standard motors. It is a after market setup and works well.
