Sludge cleaner and Calgon in home boiler(furnace)/system - anybody recommend it?
    Hi,
I would like to remove the calcium or lime scale from my boiler, and also try and dissuade it from happening again. At the same time while the system is down and I freeze my nuts off, think it would be prudent to run a sludge cleaner through the system.

Why all this you may ask? Well my boiler got blocked (no flow at all) and I ended up, removing all the piping attached to the boiler, poking out some of the pebbles with a net curtain spring, then sealed off all the lower piping and then GENTLY poured in a bottle of hydrochloric acid to eat the calcium away. Now I have water flow but know there is still some limescale there as I can feel the roughness when I put my little finger on the hot water out pipe, but it is smooth on the bottom hot inlet.

Would anybody NOT recommend putting Calgon in to a house boiler to stop it furring up?

To remove blockages and sludge, can I mix Calgon and sludge cleaner (removes the black muck inside pipes etc.) work happily together in a boiler?

Whan all this is finished, will Calgon and inhibitor work happily together? Can I keep these mixed as a permanent solution and use it in my whole system?
