Its not a good model number you gave so its hard to help. The older payne furnace had a three wire pilot assembly with spark ignition(white,yellow,green)going to the pilot assembly. If the pilot orifice is restricted or if the gas is off or if the five wire gas valve is faulting out it won't light but will spark. The only flame sensor is the pilot assembly its self.

Sorry I didn't pay enough attention to this post. Are you saying that every time there is a click the flame shuts down? Or every time there is a click the blower motor shuts down? If blower motor shuts down you most likely have a fualty relay, or control board. If burner shuts down, it may be as simple as a pressure switch(or plugged drain, if you have a 90+ efficient furnace) Does your furnace have a metal vent or plastic vent?

No, everything stays on, with each click the blower hesitates but stays going. I can't stand the constant clicking and am afraid it will burn up the furnace so I pull off the front panel to turn it off. I don't know what you mean by vent, are you talking about on the front panel? If so it's metal.

It could be something caught in the blower wheel.

Your furnace should have enough safety devices on it to keep it from burning up. The worst that will most likely happen is the part that is malfunctioning will quite working all together. Then you will be able to replace that part and problem solved. However, I don't recommend using the (dont fix it till it don't work at all) approach. You really need to call for onsite help. May cost a bit, but you will have one less worry on your mind.
