    Front panel Carrier Weathermaker 8000
How do I get the front panel off a Carrier Weathermaker 8000. The furnace is not coming on but is trying. We have had this happen before but someone else always took the panel off to access the on/off knob. I have the proper directions to re-set, just can't get at the knob!

If it is one solid panel from top to bottom, pull straight out on the grip slot. If two panels (upper and lower) are present, slide upward to remove. What "knob" are you trying to access?

Thanks, I got the panel off just like you directed. The knob I was trying to get at is the blue on/off dial type. The directions indicated to turn if off, clean the sensor, and turn it back on again, turn on the electrical power and then raise the theromostat. It worked and now we have heat - good thing because we are having a blizzard right now.

I've had my carrier a/c heat unit for about 10 years.. . Good service, but it has recently been making a sqeaking/chirping/screeching sound when the fan is running in a/c mode. I reminds me of the sound a car makes when the fan belt is slipping. Any suggestions? Thanks, lankford3
