    Is my Bryant furnace recalled?
My 90plus High Efficiency Bryant furnace is costing me my life savings. When the furnace kicks on if set at 68 degrees and has dropped on thermostat around 2 to 4 degrees it runs for 20 to 30 minutes every time to get up to 68 degrees. I know this is not normal. I have had repair man out to check it several times found nothing. I wonder if it is the blower or what is the problem. My model number is 0997x37197 any help would be great. I wonder if the furnace was recalled for not working like it is supposed to be working? Or any one has a solution.
    Thanks so much

I read that the recall is: "Only units manufactured between 1993 and 2001 are a ffected. The affected model numbers are: VA3AAA015, VA3AAB015, VL3AAA015, VB5A AA015, VB5AAB015 VC5AAA015, VB5AAB015, VA3AAA020, VA3AAB020, VL3AAA020, VB5A AA020, VB5AAB020, VC5AAA020, VC5AAB020, VC5AAA027, VC5AAB027, HRVBBLVU1150, HRVBBL VU1200, HRVBBLVU1330, HRVBBSVU1150, and HRVBBSVU1200. Is not a known Bryant model number. Find the exact model number for further help. The model number will be on the main furnace information tag which will contain a bunch of other info.

BTW the recall while it might include your unit once you get the correct model number WILL NOT cause your unit to run longer/use more fuel. Something is causing the unit to run longer but actually it sounds like it is not heating up enough. I would have the service person check the gas pressure at the valve to make sure it is at the correct firing rate.

Looks like you posted the serial number. Re-check and confirm. I work for a factory-authorized Bryant dealer so I may be able to shed more light with more info.

Has anybody taken a look in the attic? Could be the return air duct has come loose and is pulling in the very cold attic air. I once ran into this problem and that was what had happened.

Here are the correct serial & model # on Bryant furnace
I appreciate the answers. My model number on my Bryant furnace: CK5AXW024000AAAA
The serial number is 0997X37197. Sorry I had the serial no listed as the model no. If any one else has any suggestions as to why my furnace runs for 20 to 30 minutes to heat 4 degrees. I would love it. It also cycles apprx 10 min.

    Thanks

    so very much,

The numbers you have given correspond to an air conditioning a-coil which is typically situated on top of the furnace. You will have to remove the front panel from the furnace and look inside to find the model number.

Try again my Bryant 90 furnace.
Ok so I am crazy and can't see. TRy this for a model no 350MAV036060 and the serial no is 1597A01462 these nos came from inside the furnace. The others were on the outside of the furnace. We don't understand why this furnace is running 20 to 30 minutes to heat all of 2 to 4 degrees. Thanks Deb & Jerry K

Okay, now we're getting somewhere. Look for a clear plug with a red LED inside. Or, look for two metal plugs side-by-side, one says variable-speed (ignore), the other says fixed-speed (remove). Watch this little bugger while the furnace runs, see if it starts blinking. If it does, observe the pattern and refer to the service label inside the front panel. Post back with any news.

Thanks so very much. We tried with the furnace running. The red light did not blink at all during the time.
    Any other options? Txs

If the LED did not display a fault code (blinking), the self-diagnostics did not detect any malfunction. Depending on the size of your home and the outdoor temperature vs. the capacity of the unit, the cycle time you mentioned may not be unusual. For "recall" info on this unit go to furnaceclaims.com.

Model # 352AAV036080FBSA Shows code 23 Furnace runs good for about 20 to 25 times and then shows calling for gas on thermostat but will not come on until I shut off thermostat and furnace off switch, and reset the unit. HELP
