My Blower inside my Air Handler is making a loud noise
About a week or 2 ago when my ac would shut off you could hear the blower wheel kind of slow down(squeeking) then last night it got real loud it sounds like a car sputtering and its real loud... im just wonder what could be causing this and is it easy to fix.. Thanks

Usually the blower motor is the cause. More than likely the bearings are shot but you might try to lube them unless they are the lubed for life kind. In that case a motor replacement will be necessary along with a new capacitor to match the new motor. NEVER replace a motor without a new capacitor.

The blower wheel might have also come loose so while you are in the unit you might check for that also.

It sounds like the bearings in your motor went. The motor will need to be replaced.

You may be able to get the motor locally. If not you can order from an online store and probably have it in a few days time. Just check your phone book for the parts houses and give them a call along with the make and model number of your unit. They may have something in stock or they can order for you as well. Depending on the age of the unit they might have in stock.
