Yes, one of the black wires from the outlet/breaker goes to the white wire on the motor. The other black wire goes to the black wire that feeds the switch.

You also have to have a "Ground" wire from the outlet or panelboard this will connect too the "Yellow/Green" wire on the motor. Do not run this motor without having that ground wire attached.

Depending on what level of code is being used in your area, you might be able to connect to the nearest point with the ground conductor rather than go all the way back to either the outlet or breaker box. That's what I would do.

OK 2 sum everything up I'm 2 use a 15amp 240volt breaker, and a #12 awg wire. Now to install the two hot wires one hot wire goes to the white wire and the other hot wire goes to the 3speed switch, and the ground wire can run from the breaker box to the motor

    Wrong summation:

If you are changing out the breakers and installing two 15 amp breakers plus running new cable, it becomes much simpler for you. First make sure you get a HACR type breaker. These are used in Heating and Air condition systems. The label on your motor says that it requires a HACR motor.

If you use a 12/2 with ground cable then you can "Retask" the White cable at the breaker box.

Use a piece of black tape and wrap it around the white conductor in the cable at the panelboard. This tells anyone coming after you that this particular white conductor is being used as a "Hot" conductor and not a Neutral or Return conductor.

So, connect the "retasked" white conductor to one of the 15 amp breakers and then connect the black wire from the cable to the other breaker. Make sure you connect the bare ground wire to the panelboard properly.

At the other end of the new cable, you have to "Retask" the white wire from the cable again. Just wrap some black tape around the wire (again you are letting anyone coming behind you that this wire is being used as a "Hot" wire and not a Neutral or Return wire.

Connect the White wire from the motor to the Retasked wire from the cable, connect the black from the cable to the feed into the switch and then connect the ground wire to the Green/Yellow wire on the motor.

Go back to the panelboard and set the breaker to "ON" and hopefully it will not trip right away. If it does, there is a wiring problem or the "Inrush" amperage is too much for that breaker.
