How to wire a switch in the middle of a run
I have a switch and in the box is a 2-wire pwr source, a 2-wire going to a plug, and a 2 wire going to a light, how do I connect the wires in the switch box and the wires in the light box. I don't want to control the plug with the switch.

You should have a black and white wire going to the light. Your new switch will break the black wire. The other wires will not be disturbed. To do this you will most likely need to add pigtails to the switch. Pay attention to where each wire goes now.

Wire nut black wire from power and black from outlet together with a pigtail. Pigtail goes to one screw on switch.

    Wire nut 3 whites together.

Black from light goes to other screw on switch.

    Good luck
