How many amps does this fuse box have?
I'm looking to buy this house, but am wondering if anyone can tell me what the amps is for this fuse box? The box label says 100 amps, but I'm assuming that just means the panel is meant for "up to" 100 amps. The house I'm living in now is 100 amps so I'm fine with that level, but I just need confirmation if this is indeed 100 amps or something else.

Yes, it is a 100AMP box. But that doesn't mean "up to". If it did, you are 35 AMPS over( count the ratings of the screw in fuses) and that doesn't count the tubular blade fuses.
The load on the panel is not the cumulative RATING of the nameplate current limits of the individual breakers in the panel. It is the actual load on the breakers that adds up to the load.

The box is 52 years old, looks to be in reasonably good condition but we can't see the inside so not sure how it is wired.

Before buying this house with this panel, you should confimr with your insurance carrier that they will cover the home with fuses.

If I were you, I would require the seller to upgrade to at least a new complete 100 Amp service, to include the panel, meter, and service entrance wiring.

There must be a Main Switch ahead of the panel. Just because the panel is rated 100 amps does not mean it has a complete 100 amp service feeding it.
