    Difference between single phase induction motor and three phase induction motor?
    What is the actual operational difference between single phase and three phase motor.

    For a given HP rating a single phase motor will run at a higher amperage and will be a bit less efficient.
    Also, a 3-phase motor's speed can more easily be varied using a VFD.
    3-phase motors require special protection and motor starters where single-phase do not.
