Go to work American Taliban and remove this blight and purge the name New York from our history !!
You are a reversionist Tom, would you like it returned to its former name of New Amsterdam, or just call it Manhattan? And what will you do with the name of the state? Give it its indigenous name? And what of New Hampshire? Virginia? Carolina? Georgia? These names survived a bloody revolution. All the ports that were slave ports will have to hang their head in shame and should have done so 150 years ago. I thought the Civil War was over, but apparently not

    Civil Wars never end
,they just reinvent themselves . The American Civil was just a continuation of the differences between the Federalists and the anti-Federalists . The American revolution was a civil war by another name. While we read about the battles between the colonial soldiers and the Brits there was a nasty civil war between the rebels and the loyalists . Many loyalists were ethnically purged and forced to move to Canada .

Ours has devolved into the nastiest kind..... whereas the goal of the South was to leave the union with the territory they occupied ;the modern American Civil war is competing for territory both sides occupy .

And the rent is still too friggin' high! That's what the modern civil war is about, same as the other one.
