    If you are talking about a Personal Recognizance Bond I believe it is your agreement to return to Court for future appearances without the need to post a bond. There is no cost - unless you don't appear at which point bond and bail go hand in hand.

    Basically if you appear on a traffic offense and are turned to return for trial it's loosely a PR Bond - you agree to appear, no bail is set.

    In my area it's for first time offenders with very minor offenses.
