Can I fly on an airplane if I have a warrant?
I have an outstanding warrant for my arrest in my from charges as a juvenile (12 years ago). The warrant is due to $4k in fines still that I am making payments on. I have been living in Alabama now for 10 years and I have been pulled over for speeding a couple of times and the police have noticed the warrant, had Michigan called and then released me after they were told by Michigan that they "Didnt want me"

However, I am now going to be flying on a airplane for the 1st time in a couple weeks and want to know if this will be affected (or if I will be arrested) because of my warrant. I am flying from Alabama to Wisconsin and back.

When I booked the ticket, it asked for my full name and DOB but no other information. What can I expect?

    Thanks

You have the risk of being caught on that warrant.. they (DHS) do basic checks on the passengers, and if yours turns up and they care enough, you MIGHT get picked up. But there are no guarantees. If someone needs to score some points or get an ataboy the odds go up.

Like you mentioned... its the luck of the draw... you aren't a dangerous offender so who knows if it will raise a brow..

Since Wis is a lot closer to Mich than Ala is, they may decide to get you when you get off the plane, You do of course stand the risk of being held while they call, just like with the traffic stops.

If you have worked out a payment plan with them, why not just appear and get your probation re-instated and get rid of a warrant

    Thanks.
The charges are from when I was 17 and I'm 31 now. I didn't miss or skip out on probation or a court date... the warrant is due to the charges ($$) that is still owed by me that I am making payments on.
