For quite a while know an unknown male follows me to different places such as my local reservoir, a swimming hole in the woods, etc. I usually here him when I'm alone or very little people around. Quite often the woodsy areas that I walk run and swim I here him say "come on"' like he is talking to his dog(I herard a dog bark once or twice he has one), or call my name out while hiding in the woods. During last winter, I thought that I saw a dark figure crouch in a linebacker stance in the woods off the trail I was walking on. At first I thuoght I was never going to finally spot the guy , but I finally did a few weeks ago. It was almost dark I was walking up the trail to my reservoir when I heard crunching of leaves in the woods coming towards the trail. I was ready to say hello to my friend Larry thinking it was him. My friend larry likes to relax in the woods off the trail at times. It wasn't Larry. It was a man in dark blue t-shirt, jeans , couldn't make out face and hair, bacause as soon as he saw me walking up he turned around and went back in the woods. He is still spying on me and this summer I have heard him say stuff outside under my window when I'm in my room or taking a shower , like "come on, comeon"(talking to his dog?) or calling out my name. I don't think he works. But I do thinks he owns a vehicle cause the places I freuqent are 6or7 miles a part. Does this man sound like a harmless but obessed voyuer or a pyscho killer? To an unbiased audience, how in danger do I seem?

N0 he does not sound harmless.
You need to stay out of the woods and keep people surrounding you. Do you have a friend or friends that can stay with you for a while?
Walk with you and try and get a better description of the guy?
If he is under your window you should try putting up some hidden security cameras.

You can't just keep being an open target.

Not only would I suggest security cameras and having people around you at all times, I would alert the police and see if they can watch your house for you at night or something if you have to stay there.

If you know this guy is following you, why are you continuously putting yourself in bad situations where he could easily hurt you?

Let me add that it was also not a good idea to use your first name as your username here. You need to be more anonymous on the internet, especially if you think you may have a stalker.

Stalkers may or may not be dangerous, it is impossible to predict so always assume that they are potentially dangerous. Don't put yourself in dangerous situations. Get some video evidence of him following you before you call police, because they won't be able or willing to help you unless you have proof. Getting witnesses is also a good idea.

Because I thought if he was going to make a move he would have done so alreadty. Besides aren't people with dogs normal people?

Often stalkers build up confidence, or move on in their mind a make believe relationship that is real to them.

Anyone that would be mentally unstable enough to stalk you for that long may at some point do anything.

I wish this was all steming from my wonderfully creative mind. Or the result of not taking my antipsychotic medications-unfortunately, no psychosis here. My friend larry did not believe me until he accidentally saw the guy skulking down the trail to the bottom of the reservoir near dark. He had been off the trail down an embankment laeving apples out for deer. That why he was out so late. He's my only witness . And the srtalker can't be him if that's what your thinking cause this man is 83 years old and legally blind with macular degeneration so he can't drive around and follow me.

It is a tattoo I found on Yahoo images. I am too chicken to get a real tattoo.
I was thinking reverse stalk but you would have to know a perfect time and way to get one step ahead of him without him catching on. Take a small camcorder and be careful.

Not saying it is your friend but I know legally blind people who drive. They can see just good enough to slide by on being able to drive.

Is there anywhere more out in the open you could go like a big field that if he is following you he would either have to go into the area or loose you?

You really need a friend, a dog, security cameras and a cam corder and a small gun and all the protection you can get.

You have already seen enough of him to spot him, and you can describe what he was wearing, but you didn't get an idea of anything else, such as height, weight, long hair, short hair, etc.

You hear him outside your bathroom window, you've said he's near enough to you that you hear the crunching of leaves.

That is what you know. Did it ever occur to you think that that might be only a small piece of what he's doing?

Why are you going to the reservoire alone? Have you asked other people around if they've experienced the same thing? Why haven't you taken precautions.

He knows where you live, and where you go, and what you do. Learning someone's routine is part of stalking.

I'd say it's time to file a police report. You never know that this may be a local who is known to police.

Yes, I do need these three things, but what I need the most , though I hate to admit it is a MAN! If I was in a relationship with a man, a big black one espacially, I would not have this problem. But, since I am alone often, I was selected. I don't think its looks based.its all the same down there. The sad part about it was that I thought this man was looking to wisk me away to some fairytale life -but now I'm thinking its dragging me off to daeth and dismemberment. Hoppfully one day I can move out of state to rid myself of this bastard.

I am beginning to think that Sarah may have something here that we've overlooked.

Your thinking itself.

There are what is known as 'thinking errors', which means that you project your own interpretation of events, and they are incorrect according to the actual facts and reality that faces you.

That you fail to see danger here, and somehow keep putting irrational meaning to events that are clearly dangerous, puts you in an even more dangerous and vunerable position.

If you have parents, or other family members that you can talk to, please speak to someone in person with all that you have said here. Your judgment is compromised because of something, and, not wanting to put you on the spot here, but whatever that is, is contributing to you not seeing the light here.

Please get help, at least someone that knows you to listen to you.

Oh for heaven's sake. Someone is following you and hiding from you when you attempt to catch them at it. They are whispering your name and scuttling around under your window.

This is not Romeo and Juliet, and generally speaking mentally healthy suitors do not approach the object of their desires in this way.

Report your suspicions to the police and let your friends and neighbors know that you're concerned because someone is following you. Don't go jogging, walking, whatever at dusk or on your own in unpopulated areas. Make sure that you have good locks on your doors and windows and use them.

I do not think that it is a good idea to get a gun either. Most people don't know how to use them and you may do more harm than good. Protect yourself by being sensible rather than arming yourself. A dog is a good idea - but not a puppy who may just lick any intruder to death!

Don't be naïve. You may well be in danger.
