We were just learning briefly about this case in my insurance course as it was a big case there was another case mentioned as well Whitman vs Whitman I believe has anyone any knowledge of this one too?

Salomon vs Salomon Co. Ltd is a case on lifting of the corporate veil i.e looking at the Director and membaers rather than company for any fraud.

In this case it was held that Company is different from its members and members are not liabile for any thing doen by the company except to the extent mentioned in the Act i.e. up to there face vale

In this case the court held that the company has a distinct legal personality which is different from its members its irrelevant that the members are related or not but once the company is incorporated it is a legal person in the eyes of law
